MacLeod Resources Ltd. grows into new office space in River Denys (December 10, 2004)
MacLeod Resources Ltd. has outgrown its original confines for managing and operating its marble quarry in River Denys, Nova Scotia. A separate building has been mortgage-financed to house the management and administrative functions required for the international growth of MacLeod Resources Ltd. Situated on a half-acre property near the banks of the River Denys, MacLeod’s new building will be outfitted with an office, showroom, and apartments for management.
From this new building, MacLeod will be better suited to host clients, showcase its six varieties of Canada’s Marble, perform the administrative functions necessary to maintain a well-functioning organization, as well as provide lodging for a management team originally based in Truro. The primary building will be upgraded and further converted into home for MacLeod’s Quarry Master, as well as for the needs of any quarry or production employees who require temporary lodging during extended periods of hazardous weather, late-night shift work, or other precautionary reasons.
First large-scale installation of Canada’s Marble tiles a success (November 25, 2004)
MacLeod Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce that the first large-scale installation of Canada’s Marble in tile form has been successfully completed at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. This installation marks the first time that blocks of Canada’s Marble were fabricated into tiles in Carrara, Italy and then shipped back to Canada for domestic use. The exquisite mixed-use of both grey and red varieties highlights the rich mineral content of Cape Breton, while providing the Civic Center with an air of elegance.
The fully completed Civic Centre is a state-of the-art, 97,000-square-foot facility with 1,000 fixed seats in the arena and floor capacity for another 1,000 (seated theatre style). The weekend-long Grand Opening was the culmination of years of coordinated community lobbying and fundraising. The Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre was constructed as part of the Canada-Nova Scotia Infrastructure Program. The $195 million, six-year Program is administered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, while the Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation is a member of the management committee.

MacLeod Resources Ltd. announces the addition of new equipment (August 15, 2004)
It is with extreme excitement that MacLeod Resources Ltd. announces the addition of some new equipment to its quarrying and production operation in River Denys, Nova Scotia. Located in the highlands of Cape Breton, the marble quarry will benefit immensely from the use of its new mobile Pellegrini diamond wire saw. This extremely efficient, low-impact machine is a state-of-the-art tool without which quarrying Canada’s Marble would be extraordinarily difficult. A stationary Pellegrini wire saw has been added at the base of the mountain for block squaring and slab cutting requirements.
Pellegrini is well known in the world for the production of dimension stone quarrying equipment with different ranges of capabilities. The range includes various models of quarry diamond wire sawing machines, a series of stationary diamond wire saws for block squaring and slabbing, a complete range of mobile and stationary pneumatic and hydraulic drilling machines, hydraulic jacks, splitting hydraulic wedges, water bags and all accessories.
Lastly, the production facility is home to a new Thibaut automatic flat stone polisher. This expertly calibrated machine is responsible for providing the mirror-like finish to Canada’s Marble. Thibaut has designed more than 50 types of polishing machines, milling machines, calibrating machines, sawing machines and cutting machines and is considered the premier designed in the industry.

Canada’s Marble now inventoried and fabricated in Carrara, Italy (May 15, 2004)
MacLeod Resources Ltd. is pleased to announced that Canada’s Marble is now inventoried, fabricated, and otherwise made available for block and slab consumption to the European market, via the facilities of Giani Trading Co. in Carrara, Italy. This relationship with Andrea Giani, the founder and operator of Giani Trading, dates back for some time but was not formalized until the end of April, 2004.
Key milestones were expected to be achieved by Canada’s Marble, prior to an agreement being solidified. First, the shipment of blocks from Halifax to Carrara had to be established. Second, the blocks had to withstand the enormous force and pressure of being gang-sawed into slabs. Third, the slabs had to demonstrate a consistency in colours and patterns throughout the entire block, to ensure marketability. Consequently, Mr. Giani is extremely pleased to represent such a unique and new variety of stones and expects a heightened interest to develop for MacLeod’s products amongst the European buyers.
